Our three churches offer a range of service styles each Sunday.  Our regular services include: said and sung Holy Communion; All Age Worship; and service of the Word.  Special services are held to celebrate major festivals such as Christmas, Easter, Harvest etc. and several times a year the three parishes worship together in a joint Benefice service.

You are also welcome to join us for a chat over a cup of coffee after each service.

Following the recent changes in our Ministry Team (after the departure of the Coxes and the Hayes) and also with our curate, Julia Curtis being on placement in February and March,  the Ministry Team have decided that we need to adjust our pattern of worship slightly to accommodate these changes. We shall therefore be swapping over the services at Ruishton on the first and second Sundays of the month. This means that there will be a Service of the Word at Ruishton on the first Sunday of the month, and Holy Communion will be on the second Sunday of the month instead. This will be for a trial period during January to March. In April, there will be Holy Communion on 1st Sunday as it is Easter Day.

This will mean that the Service of the Word can be taken by a Reader and will allow Rebecca more time between the 8.15 am service at Thornfalcon and All Age Worship at Creech at 11.00 am. We shall see how it goes, and will review again after Easter.

Foodbank Donations

This year we have received a certificate of thanks from Taunton Foodbank, as we have given 1 tonne of food as a Benefice. What a wonderful achievement!

We are not for resting on our laurels though, and so we have been thinking about a way to invigorate this giving in 2018. So, starting in January, we will be changing the way these donations are received in our churches. As you arrive for a service, there will be a basket out for any food donations. The basket will then be brought up to the front as part of the service when the offering of money is received. Thereby recognising that the food donations are part of our gift to God’s people in the wider world.

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity runs from 18-25 January. This year, there will be a special service to pray for and celebrate the unity we have in Christ, on Sunday 21st January at 7.00 pm at North Street Congregational Church in Taunton. I am planning to go and if anyone would like a lift, please ask me!
