Baptism is about being welcomed into God’s family, the church, and starting off in the life of faith.  Baptisms are conducted in all our parish churches and Rebecca Harris would be delighted to talk with you about baptism for people of all ages.  If you are thinking about having your baby or child baptised, please ring Rebecca and she will arrange to meet you at home and talk through what it all means, how it works, what happens in the service etc.  Baptisms usually take place during the main morning service at our parish churches.  Please contact Rebecca at the earliest opportunity.

Baptism (Christening) Preparation

For families enquiring about baptism for their children, we now offer baptism preparation sessions on a Sunday afternoon, usually once a month, according to demand. We meet in church where the baptism will take place at 3pm.

We have coffee, tea, squash and biscuits, and toys are available for children. We have a relaxed time together, looking at the baptism service, getting to know the church and its facilities, and also each other! All the family are welcome, and godparents are invited too, so they can find out more about their role. We answer all your questions, and arrange a suitable date for the service.

Our next session will be at Creech St Michael Parish church on Sunday 10th February at 3pm. Please let us know if you would like to come, by letting Rebecca or Yvonne (in the office) know in advance.
